Ms. Jo Ann Mena - Grades 7 & 8 ELA | Teen Leadership
I am a native Texan. I was born and raised in El Paso. My dad served in the U.S. Army and later became a police detective with the El Paso Police Department. My mom was a homemaker.
A graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, I have a B.A. in Political Science and English and a M.Ed. in Counseling.
I have one sister and two sons. My oldest son (UTEP grad) is a sheriff’s deputy in El Paso and my youngest son (TCU grad) is a computer analyst in Fort Worth. My husband is a Texas History teacher at Sugar Land Middle School.
I most recently taught middle school ELA (Regular & GT/Pre-AP) in Fort Bend ISD. My love of teaching has brought me to The Honor Roll School where my goal will be to inspire students to attain academic excellence and develop into lifelong learners.
