Greetings from Pannell’s Place. This is my 20th year at THRS and my 23rd year as a teacher.
My first eight years at THRS were spent as a first grade teacher and I am thrilled to be back for another year! After my original run in first grade, I moved to the computer lab for two years. I discovered that I am a classroom teacher at heart and moved back to the classroom to teach fourth grade. Then I spent three years teaching third grade before coming back to first grade in 2017.
I hold a degree in journalism from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University). Before becoming a teacher I was an award-winning newspaper reporter and editor for several Gulf Coast newspapers. In my free time I enjoy reading, playing with my rescue pup Coco, hanging out with my awesome niece and three nephews, and of course, rooting for my beloved 2017 World Series Champion Houston Astros.
Teaching is my passion. I believe everyone can become a lifelong learner. My philosophy is to have fun. We all learn better with laughter.
So come on in, grab a book, and laugh and learn with us!
