Welcome to Chowtonville, a First Grade community that thrives on students immersed in a fun, challenging, and an engaging learning environment. Not only are the citizens of Chowtonville very important, we have an extra precious citizen named Mr. Apples. He is our beloved bunny that roams the classroom with an attitude!
My name is YingChuin Chow, aka the President of Chowtonville! I was born and raised in Singapore. I came to the United States to further my studies and started college in Austin and moved to Houston and received my Bachelors of Science in Child Development from the University of Houston. I worked as an Early Childhood Educator for several years before completing my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Having taught for many years, from Pre-K to 2nd Grade, in both private and public school, I have learned valuable lessons about life, families, and myself. I had the opportunity to join THRS in 2008, and the joy of teaching and learning continues. I am truly blessed to be in First Grade at The Honor Roll School. Thank you for sharing your children with me.
Teaching is modeling, sharing, experiencing, trying, building, laughing, and much more. It involves teamwork between teachers, students and parents. We learn together, make mistakes together and we improve together. We grow in confidence and independence everyday!
